FAQ
How do I know if I need therapy or if it will help me?
Choosing to enter psychotherapy can be a difficult decision. Even as a therapist, it has previously been a daunting task at times. It is usually a very personal decision to enter therapy, with much trouble finding a therapist who actually feels like a good fit. There may be some internal conflict about whether you should go or not even when you think you find the right therapist, because you might not feel like there really is even a point.
At Denver Emotional Health, we offer individual therapy and counseling services from smart, caring and knowledgeable therapists. Our therapy often helps people shift perspective and gain insights into their issues to help free people from feeling “stuck.” We provide people support and professional guidance through difficult psychological situations or relationship issues.
If you or a loved one suffers from personal, emotional distress or a psychological disorder, then you should consider contacting us for an appointment or free consultation. When you set up an initial consultation, we will conduct a comprehensive assessment looking at factors such as your current functioning, past psychological difficulties and trauma, family history, and medical history. From there, we will work to establish an understanding of your individual treatment plan and goals for therapy.

We provide out-of-network reimbursements for clients with insurance plans. In a nutshell, Clients will generally pay for sessions at the time of service and are then provided with a “superbill”: You may then submit the bill to your insurance company for reimbursement.
If you do not have out-of-network coverage, we will work with you to find options for your care. Our belief is that everyone has a right to receive high-quality healthcare. We offer a number of spots for those who do not have healthcare coverage, are unemployed, and need a sliding-scale rate.

How frequent are sessions and how long will therapy last?
This depends on many factors but generally sessions are for once a week, or once every two weeks, for approximately 50-55 minute sessions. For some people, therapy may only last for a few sessions or a few months. For others, it may require significantly less or longer. The reality remains that therapy is completely dependent upon the specific person and their issues presented. We are all dealt a different hand in life and this includes our trauma, anxiety and level of vulnerabilities. At Denver Emotional Health, we work collaboratively with our clients and you can discuss these treatment planning questions together with us each step of the way from the very beginning.
For those individuals who have been in therapy without significant effect for years, or who want to work on expediting treatment, feel free to learn more about the way legal psychedelic-assisted therapies, such as Ketamine-assisted psychotherapy, may be able to help you.
